Party Patrol is run by Denise Sutton as part of a project for Bikur Holim to help control and prevent drinking and driving at parties. Drivers are hired to be aware of anyone who might have had a little too much to drink and intends to get into their car and drive. In addition, they are also there to provide car service for anyone,drunk or not, who may need a ride home. This offers an alternative for somone who may feel uncomfortable getting into a car with someone they feel uncomfortable with for any reason. This program started in 1994 and so far has been very successful with hundreds of people using this service at parties. Not only do you help prevent drinking and driving but you protect yourself in the event that something does happen. If you serve liquor at your party and someone drives home drunk from your party and gets into an accident, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!!! Legal action can be taken against YOU in the state of New Jersey unless you take preventitive measures.
